Location: Round the Table Game Pub, 196th Street Southwest, Lynnwood, WA, United States
Description: This event is open to all players of all skill levels.

For years, the evil Cult of the Dragon has devoted itself to creating undead dragons in a vain attempt to fulfill an ancient prophecy. However, the cultists were misguided. They misunderstood. But now, under new leadership, the cult believes that the prophecy does not speak of undead dragons, but of a dragon empire that’s been extinct for 25,000 years. Tiamat, Queen of Evil Dragons, has languished in the Nine Hells for millennia. The cult believes that the time of her return is at hand.

The cult has a new face and a new mission. It seeks to free Tiamat from the Nine Hells and bring her into the Forgotten Realms. To accomplish its goal, the cult needs five ancient dragon masks and the support of evil dragons everywhere. The cult leaders—each one a "dragon whisperer"—have reached out to the evil dragons of the Sword Coast and earned their allegiance.

Meanwhile, evil dragons in partnership with the cult seek to amass a treasure hoard worthy of their dark queen, not by plundering their own hoards (of course) but by stealing money from cities, caravans, good-aligned dragons, merchant ships, and other sources. Their ravenous hunt for treasure throws the Sword Coast into upheaval. Neverwinter, Waterdeep, Baldur’s Gate—no city is safe from their depredations.

The situation is dire. However, the Sword Coast is far from defenseless. Powerful factions are ready to rise up and put an end to the tyranny of dragons. Adventurers throughout the Realms must join forces to face Tiamat, destroy the Cult of the Dragon, and prevent the rise of a new dragon empire. In their hands, the future lies.

Universe RPG is a Science Fiction Role-Playing game originally published by the acclaimed war game publisher, SPI (Simulations Publications Inc) in 1981 on the heels of a request from Bantam books to create a Role-Playing game (SPI also printed DragonQuest - which Greg has been GMing at conventions for decades).

"It is the 23rd Century. Commercial interests are the primary "driving force" for interstellar expansion while the 'loosely tied' Federation provides support in the way of navies as well as administrative, technical or logistical towards outlying colonies with the most distant from Earth being either the most needy, or the most independent."

Around the Table

Around the Table is being built from the ground up as a hub for the neighborhood and boardgamers alike. As a gaming establishment, we aim to feature a large selection of boardgames for sale both popular and niche, new and used, and with a back room for quiet gaming, while also hosting obvious events like Magic drafts as well as more obscure ones like pizza-and-beer Game Nights. As a neighborhood establishment, we aim to provide parents a space to unwind, with an open front cafe/retail space to play boardgames while knocking back an IPA. We also want to satisfy children with a large selection of locally crafted ice-cream by the scoop. Events we host range from private birthday parties and charity beer tastings, to book club gatherings. More than anything, we aim to create a place that isn't just beer and isn't just geek. Everyone has something to bring to the table, whether it's a game or simply the whole family. We hope to see you soon--Around the Table

Saturday is for one of Tim's favorite games ....

Today's Events: 5th Ed. D&D w/Danny @ 1pm; Modern Masters Draft [$40 + tax] @ 6:30pm.

Sunday's Events: Pinochle/Rummy @ 1pm; Rolemaster RPG @ 1pm; Card & Deckbuilding Games with Trent @ 2:30pm; Iron Kingdoms RPG with Chris @ 7pm.

Tim here. I am SO excited that one of my all-time favorite games is back in print!

Tigris & Euphrates is a classic Reiner Knizia game that pits neighboring city states against each other. Player's don't control any one nation, but rather must encourage Military, Trade, Agriculture and Religion equally. States expand almost amoeba-like until they meet each other, and then shrink back in surprising directions.

We'll be announcing some Learn and Play days for it, so keep your eyes peeled here for more information. And we'll get one in the open play section .... It's that good!

Woke up this mornin' and I walked out the door,
Hoping for a little bit more, hoping to score
But there ain't much problem with that
Modern Masters coming back, like a nat,
So I break out my phat mat.

*hack*

Openin' packs at Around the Table
My favorite Gamer Pub, it's no flub,
You can't sub for a Rootbeer float
For less than a Surgical Extraction,
Check that action! Say bye-bye to that matchin'
Non-land grand stand,
Tarmagoyf

No Profane Command in hand
will bring back,
No tears will fund a Cryptic Command,
so lean back.
Another pack, another Bitter Blossom
Another flying faerie, don't worry, just toss'em

So you slam a Splinter Twin on your favorite card,
Fulminator Mage? Do I look like a Bard?
It's not that hard. Unless I let down my guard.
But time's up, wrap up, I played a Karn Liberated son!
You're finished. It's over. I mean it. IT'S DONE!

Just don't start soundin' like a cranky tween,
When you can't bust out Iona lookin' real mean
Unopened boosters are a shame to be seen!
Come on everybody,
It's Modern Masters twenty-fifteen!

*mic dropped*
