Around the Table

Around the Table is being built from the ground up as a hub for the neighborhood and boardgamers alike. As a gaming establishment, we aim to feature a large selection of boardgames for sale both popular and niche, new and used, and with a back room for quiet gaming, while also hosting obvious events like Magic drafts as well as more obscure ones like pizza-and-beer Game Nights. As a neighborhood establishment, we aim to provide parents a space to unwind, with an open front cafe/retail space to play boardgames while knocking back an IPA. We also want to satisfy children with a large selection of locally crafted ice-cream by the scoop. Events we host range from private birthday parties and charity beer tastings, to book club gatherings. More than anything, we aim to create a place that isn't just beer and isn't just geek. Everyone has something to bring to the table, whether it's a game or simply the whole family. We hope to see you soon--Around the Table

Our Ancient Oktoberfest event is happening this weekend.
Here's a sneak peak of the ales we will have flights of on Saturday!

Birra Etrusca Bronze - c. 800 BCE - 8.5% - Brewers analyzed drinking vessels found in Etruscan tombs buried in Rome for this recipe. The backbone comes from two-row malted barley and an heirloom Italian wheat. Specialty ingredients include hazelnut flour, pomegranates, Italian chestnut honey, Delaware wildflower honey and clover honey. A handful of whole-flower hops are added, but the bulk of the bitterness comes from gentian root and the sarsaparilla-like Ethiopian myrrh resin.

Kvasir - c. 1500 BCE - 10% - The recipe for Kvasir was developed with the help of chemical, botanical and pollen evidence taken from a 3,500‐year‐old Danish drinking vessel. The vessel was found in the tomb of probably an upper-class dancer or priestess, and analysis points to some odd ingredients used in this unique brew: wheat, lingonberries, cranberries, myrica gale, yarrow, honey and birch syrup.

Chateau Jiahu - c. 7000 BCE - 10% - Preserved pottery jars found in the Neolithic villiage of Jiahu, in Henan province of Northern China, have revealed that a mixed fermented beverage of rice, honey and fruit was being produced. In keeping with historic evidence, Dogfish brewers use orange blossom honey, muscat grape juice, barley malt and hawthorn fruit. The wort is fermented for about a month with sake yeast until the beer is ready to bottle.

Midas' Touch - c. 700 BCE - 9% - This sweet yet dry beer is made with ingredients found in 2,700-year-old drinking vessels from the tomb of King Midas. Somewhere between beer, wine and mead, Midas will please the chardonnay and beer drinker alike with its use of white muscat grapes and saffron!
